Last week, The Filter took part in the University of Bath Autumn Careers Fair for the first time. Over 200 employers took part over the two days which saw over 3,000 students attend each of the days.
The University of Bath is consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the UK by The Guardian and one of the highest for student satisfaction. It is also committed to high-quality research and innovation, with a variety of research centres and interdisciplinary CDTs such as the Centre for the Analysis of Motion, Entertainment Research and Applications (CAMERA) and the CDT in Statistical Applied Mathematics (SAMBa). With our location in central Bath, and some of our staff being alumni from the University, we are perfectly placed to attract top talent from the University.
The event was a success, with students from a variety of disciplines as diverse as Electrical Engineering, Maths, and Psychology coming to speak to us. They were particularly interested in the work that The Filter does in terms of data science and building client relationships within the media industry. We hope to keep in touch with these students and see some of them join the team in a year’s time!
This event marks the beginning of our commitment to developing stronger links with the University of Bath and we will be running employer presentations on campus later this year. We are keen to recruit graduates, and have already hired two Graduate Data Scientists to join our team this month. We look forward to welcoming new additions from the University of Bath to our team in the years to come.
